QUARKS: The Cheapest Token in the Universe
The Cardano APEX Index wanted to provide a unique learning tool for new users to practice interacting with the Cardano blockchain. That’s why we’re excited to introduce $QUARKS, the official meme coin of the Cardano APEX Index. But let’s be clear: Quarks is just a meme coin, and it’s not related to the $APEX or the Index in any way. It’s a social experiment, a joke, and a learning tool all rolled into one.

The Story of Quarks
On December 9th, 2024, we minted 99,999,999,999,999,999 Quarks tokens and put them into a liquidity pool paired with .000001 ADA, making it about the cheapest token possible. To kick things off, we made the first purchase of Quarks for a hundredth of an ADA (about one penny) and used those Quarks to start a new liquidity pool paired with a penny worth of APEX token.
